Frequently Asked Questions

Is every piece Hand Made?

Yes, every piece has been designed and hand made by Wyn Abbot and then glazed and fired in the kilns in our own pottery studio in the grounds of Hornby Castle in the Lune Valley, England.

Are some of the pieces mass produced?

No, every single piece is hand made in our pottery studios, which is why each piece will differ slightly from the next.

Can I have something made especially for me?

Yes, you can commission a piece that means something special to you, Wyn will work with you to agree the design etc. Once you have agreed the detail and if the piece has specific detail, such as name or dates etc then we would ask for payment before we start on the work as we would not be able to sell it should you decide not to take the piece for what ever reason once completed.

How long will my Commission piece take?

You should allow up to six weeks for your piece to be made and be ready to be sent out to you.

Can I visit your studio?

Because our studio is in the private grounds of Hornby Castle we are not open to the general public except when Hornby Castle has Open Weekends - usually three or four times per year. But we are flexible and you can contact us and arrange for a private visit.

What do I do if something is out of stock?

You can ask us to contact you when it is back in stock - just follow the instructions on the product page. When the item returns to stock we will email you to let you know.

How do I pay?

At the checkout page you will be offered two payment methods, one by using a Credit or Debit Card and the other by using PayPal, you do not need a PayPal account to pay by PayPal. You can also pay by interest free installment using Clearpay at the checkout. If you are wanting to pay for a commissioned piece then you will be sent a PayPal invoice.

What if my purchase arrives damaged?

We use our best endeavours to ensure that everything arrives with you in perfect condition however, because it is all fragile there are from time to time breakages. If you are unfortunate enough to experience such an event then you should contact us immediately (sales@wynabbot.com) with images of the broken piece/damage. If in our opinion the damage has been caused by insufficient packaging or inconsiderate handling by the carrier we will replace your item at once.

Do you ship overseas?

Although we are based in England in the UK we send our products all over the world, when you checkout you will see the various shipping options for your country.

What if I am dissatisfied with my purchase?
